Event retry mechanism in the AI-14 dashcam

When an event is created with snapshot or video enabled, and the AI-14 dashcam cannot upload the event media immediately, the event retry mechanism repeats attempts to upload the media in the following process.

Event retry mechanism in the AI-14 device

  1. When an event is created with snapshot or video enabled on the AI-14 dashcam, the device is notified to upload the appropriate media file to the cloud.

    • If the connection between the device and storage is stable, the media file is uploaded in seconds.
    • If the connection between the device and storage is not stable, the event retry mechanism is activated.
    Note

Configured data profiles may limit the request for media. For more information, see Data profile options.

  2. The event retry mechanism tries to upload the file every two minutes during the first hour, and then every six minutes afterwards.

    Note

The AI-14 dashcam can only attempt to upload media when it is in the online state. To check the status of a device, see Retrieve organization's devices

  3. Once the media is uploaded to the cloud, a webhook message is sent, if configured. For more information, see Webhooks
